A fun and frosty slushy is tucked into this whimsical cupcake wrapper from the Buggy Daze collection. We pushed mini orange slice candies onto the wooden lollipop stick and slid it into the icy drink.

We used a simple cotton candy machine... so much fun… to swirl a bit of the classic sugary treat onto this rock candy lollipop stick. We nestled the cotton candy into a cupcake wrapper for display. This cupcake wrapper is from the Flowers for Tiffany collection.

These super versatile lollipop sticks come in two lengths, 4 ¼ inches and 6 inches. The 6 inch lollipop sticks make lovely cupcake toppers. Using a paper punch, we cut a tag from a coordinating color of paper. We punched two standard size holes in the tag and threaded it onto the lollipop stick. For added charm, we tied a puffy tulle bow to the top to coordinate with this cupcake wrapper from the Birthday Wishes collection.

This adorable cake pop was made on a 4 ¼ inch wooden lollipop stick. Before pushing the stick into the cake ball, we slid silk flower petals to the top of the lollipop stick. This fun idea for entertaining is perfect for a wedding or wedding shower, baby shower, or a sweet, girly garden party.

This easy New Year’s desserts menu can be done with homemade, or purchased desserts. The idea is to keep it simply elegant, so you can enjoy the New Year’s party too! All of these desserts will store well, with exception of the cupcakes. So, either make your New Year’s desserts ahead of time… or buy them already done. You choose.

6 Stunning New Year’s desserts, here’s how to do it…

White chocolate cupcakes:

We picked up our cupcakes on the day of the party. Elegant and simple, with our desserts table set and ready to go, we just placed our desserts on the platters and were ready to party with the guests.

Cake pops:

These classy New Year’s desserts look like snowballs with the sprinkling of coarse sugar. We displayed them in Sheer Elegance Sweet Petites, the new cake pop kit by Confetti Couture. The cake pops were super simple using this cake pop maker, so we created our own. They are bite sized cake balls on a lollipop stick! Dipped in white chocolate, they are deliciously coordinated.

Meringue tarts:

Take the elegance to new heights with these frothy egg whites slow baked to perfection and filled with a sweet and tart fruity glaze.

Snowflake sugar cookies:

We created these beauties ourselves, too. Gorgeous stacks of white snowflakes create pretty snow covered “trees” on our New Year’s desserts table. Sugar cookies freeze well, so you can make them far in advance, and even frost them, too. Just pull them out a couple hours before your New Year’s party and let them thaw unwrapped.

Marshmallows:

The marshmallows are also homemade on our New Year’s desserts table. They are truly, so easy to make. They can be bought this way, too. We used Sweet Stickz, wooden lollipop sticks from Confetti Couture, to display them.

Of course, you could buy these, but we wanted to have perfectly fresh, elegantly flavored pomegranate gumdrops! So, we made these, too. Yes, we are a teensy bit particular about the details on our New Year’s desserts display!

A Christmas cake pops display is a must this year! Oreo pops, Christmas cake pops, brownie pops… really, anything sweet and served on pops sticks is hot right now.

Finally, we served darling bottles of milk in individually portioned milk bottles. These milk bottles are surprisingly easy to come by. Ours are repurposed coffee bottles. Salad dressings often come in bottles that are shaped like a miniature carafes, and work well too. If all else fails, mini milk bottles can be found at the craft store at a reasonable price. A tag with each guests’ name finishes the look (the funky font is "Penguin Attack").

Cake plate dreaming…Wouldn’t it be great if you had a magical cabinet? Each time you open the door, cake plates that perfectly coordinate with your party or event would be right inside? Love it. Well, we don’t have a magical cabinet for you, but we do have some DIY cake plate ideas that will make you feel as if you do. With a few supplies on hand, you can create cake plates or a cupcake tower in minutes.

This darling birthday party cupcake tower was created with cardboard cake circles with ribbon pinned to the edges, and clear vases. For the complete “how to” check out this cupcake tower tutorial. What we love about this one is that the clear vases can be filled with any type of candy, flowers, tissue, or other decorations in any colors. We used the whimsical, hand painted hats on the Birthday Wishes Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers collection as our color inspiration.

With just a mirror repurposed into an oversized platter, and a tiered plant stand topped with vases and dessert plates, we created this DIY cupcake tower with items from around the house. Add in some punches of color with fabric and cupcake wrappers. We chose Autumn Nights Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers, and accented with the color of the minute… warm plum. Notice what a difference these reversible cupcake wrappers make as compared to the cupcakes in their wrinkled panties!

This cupcake tower is super simple to create and inexpensive, too. We used a cylindrical vase, but a coffee can would work just as well. We covered it in scrapbooking paper that coordinated with our dessert table, and attached it with double sided tape. We simply set a large platter on top, upside down, because it has a lip. A cardboard cake circle trimmed in ribbon would be perfect as well. For more stability, or to make it more permanent, the platter can be glued to the can or vase.

This Halloween Dessert table is colorful and fun, but to keep it cohesive and coordinated, we used silver platters for all of the goodies.

The squares in the front keep orderly and organized treats in rows. The platters in the back are elevated to bring height to the table. In the center, our pièce de résistance is an adorable Halloween cupcake tower embellished with black marabou feathers.

The square platters along the front of the dessert table show off these incredibly simple Halloween treats. These Frankenstein pops are so easy to make.

Next, bundle two Oreo cookies together with some orange ribbon, and line them up neatly on the second platter.

The purple foil on dark chocolate Kisses goes perfectly on the table. Again, we lined them up in orderly rows.

For the last square platter, just wrap some candy bars in Halloween scrapbooking paper, secured with some glue dots, and embellish them with a tag.

On the left side of the table, we elevated a large silver bowl of gumballs in orange and purple.

On the right side… caramel apples. Microwave the caramels until they are just melted, and dip the apples. They fit beautifully in the Little Goblins Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers. The tiered dessert stand gives them extra height.

How to make Frankenstein cake pops:

Start by mixing crumbled cake and frosting just as you would a usual cake pop. Here’s a cake pop recipe from the cake pop queen over at Bakerella, if you’re a newbie to the cake pop scene.

To form the shape of Frankie’s head, just make a log with the cake mixture and refrigerate until firm.

Cut the log into 1 ½ inch pieces, and insert a stick into a flat end of each piece.

Dip each pop into lime green candy melts, and let the candy coating harden.

Using the tube of black frosting with a thin writing tip, make hair on top and two dots for eyes.
