Classroom Valentine’s Day Party Snacks...
Many schools require food that is brought into the classrooms to be purchased, not homemade. Many classrooms don’t allow nuts, in order to protect those with allergies. So, what’s a room mom to do? That’s where Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers by Confetti Couture save the day!

Cupcake Wrappers decorate Valentine’s Day floats for the class
This is what you will need:
Vanilla ice cream
Strawberry soda
Straws- one for each person
Maraschino cherries- one for each person
Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers- one for each person
Double stick tape or glue dots
Plastic spoons- one for each person
Whipped cream
Festive sprinkles
Before the party, place each 9 ounce SOLO cup inside Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers and secure with a piece of double stick tape or a glue dot. Then put one small scoop of vanilla ice cream in each cup, and place the filled cups in the freezer.
At the party, pour a small amount of the strawberry soda over the ice cream… be careful… a little dab’ll do ya! The whipped cream is next, then sprinkles, and a cherry on top. Finish each float with a straw and a spoon.
If the kids are old enough to decorate their own, you can simply pour the soda and let them top their own floats. Crazy cute! The kids love them.

Valentine’s Day classroom snack ideas served in Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers
We filled our cups dressed in Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers with pretzels, popcorn, dried cherries, and a few chocolate chips… festive, special, store-bought, and no nuts. Grapes or other fruit are also great choices.
For Classroom Valentine’s Day Party activities…
Activities for Valentine’s Day parties are easy. If the class exchanges Valentine’s, some of the time will likely involve passing them out and maybe even opening and reading the cards. One or two activities are plenty. Here are a few of ideas to get you started…
For any age:
Have the kids make Valentine’s Day cards for their parents, or other special someone.
Provide each kid with a starter card, and embellishments to make it their own. This can be as simple as construction paper and markers, but the dollar areas of stores often have packages of blank cards. You can provide, or have families bring ribbon, sequins, plastic gems, buttons, and glitter.
Have the kids make tissue flower pencils
You will need a new pencil for each child. We like to use green pencils or Valentine’s Day pencils… also often available in packages in the dollar section of the store.
Before the party, cut colored tissue paper into five inch squares. Go for flower colors… red, pink, white, yellow…
Each child will need one pencil, five squares of tissue paper, and one pipe cleaner.
Show the kids how to accordion fold the paper in ½ inch to 1 inch folds, back and forth until the entire square is folded.
The ends of the folded tissue paper can be cut into points or rounded with some scissors if they choose.
The paper should be now in a long, folded shape. Place the short ends together, and attach the short, folded end to the pencil top with the pipe cleaner.
Gently separate the tissue pieces to make a fluffy flower, and curl the pipe cleaner ends.
Create a We Love Mr. or Mrs. Teacher collage with the whole class
Butcher paper or poster board can be made into a banner of love for the teacher. Have each child put a personal message or picture and their name on the poster.
Play I spy, or telephone
Guess how many conversation hearts are in the jar
Play Guess Who ‘s The Sweetheart?
Choose someone to be “The Sweetheart”, but don’t tell anyone who it is.
Instruct the kids that they should ask yes or no questions to find who is “The Sweetheart”. For example, “Is The Sweetheart a boy?”
The adult answers questions either “Yes” or “No”.
The class gets 20 questions to figure out which student is “The Sweeheart”.
