How to create a Cherries Jubilee inspired Dessert table with Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers

This darling dessert table is so easy, and we have the step by step for you to recreate this for your own cherry theme kid’s birthday party.

We started with a chocolate brown table. If you don’t have one, just use a fabric or table cloth in the chocolate brown color to start. Next, we gathered cherry desserts and drinks to keep with the theme. Cherry sodas in retro looking bottles, red licorice twists, sweet red cherries, cherry chocolate chip ice cream, and pink dipped marshmallows keep the cherry theme alive. Of course pink cupcakes with a cherry on top are the highlight! Use the Dessert Skirtz cupcake wrappers from the Cherries Jubilee collection to guide you with the colors. Keeping the colors consistent is what brings this look together. We used larger doses of brown and pink, with accents of red and lime green.

Labels for the food and drinks made from scrapbooking paper puts a special finishing touch on the table. Use your baskets and simple dishes to get this look. Let the food be the highlight. Adding heights and levels is important to bring interest to your dessert table.

Give that sheet cake a rest this year and go all out with this amazing cherry dessert table for your sweetie’s birthday party!

Cherry Surprise Balloon Game

Cherry Surprise!

What you need :
2-3 balloons per party guest
Brown pipe cleaners (same number as balloons)
Sweet looking green paper, can be a solid or print
Stapler
Twine
Tiny prizes- the size of a dime or smaller (erasers, tattoos, small candies, etc)
A bandana or scarf to use a blindfold.

Before the party:
Insert a prize or two through the opening of each balloon.
Cut large simple leaves from the green paper.
Blow up the balloons and tie them.
Twist the end of a pipe cleaner to each balloon.
Twist the other end of each pipe cleaner to another pipe cleaner attached to a balloon… making them into “cherries”.
Staple a leaf to each set of cherries.
String the twine up clothesline style.
Hang the cherries over the twine.

At the party:
Have the children sit on the floor with plenty of open space under the “cherries”.
Blindfold one child and give them a push pin (carefully).
Let the child try to pop a balloon with the pin. The other children can give hints to help the blindfolded guest.
When the balloon is popped, the blindfold is removed. The guest claims the prize and the next child gives it a try.
Be sure to supervise very closely!
